  Overall: There is a bug in 6.6.0.18 and probably several versions: one can only add to an existing session ONCE no matter what. I always choose do not close to allow later files to be added but still it only lets you do it once. The next time I get the same type error you got. I have BENQ DVD DC DQ60, DMA is ON and was recording data cd but think that is irrelevant. Problem is with NERO software, adds more and more useless things to clutter up you hdrive and registry etc. and the basics get worse!!

  Weaknesses: program apparently does not verify itself/it's progress/work; expensive; must pay for customer service, as they will not answer e-mail

  Overall: bought the program for backup: the backup failed & they have yet to fix the problem (and I'm up a creek, as I found out my backup failed after I formated the hard drive). backup program is most important program you'll ever use, & Ahead/Nero has utterly failed at this

  Overall: I purchased Nero 6.6 Ultra based on the PC Magazine reviews. I honestly can't understand the high rating they gave this software. First, let qualify myself. I have been developing software for almost 20 years. I have reviewed software for some major magazines, and I still write an occasional technical article for the geek community.Now for the meat... I purchased my copy directly from Nero and downloaded the software; which was about as intuitive as the software itself. There are about 7 installation files that must be downloaded, and there wasn't a "readme" to be found anywhere. So it?s anyone?s guess which file should be installed first, second, etc.Nero registers itself for every type of file on your system, including Icons (*.ICO). This causes the file explorer to mask the actual icon image with the Nero application icon. They also register JPG image files, which they *DO NOT* support! Or at least none of Nero?s software installed my system will open one.The DVD editing is so basic and so confining I found it almost useless. I found I got better quality using Microsoft?s Movie Maker, then simply burned the DVD using Nero. Nero?s ?Wizard? approach to DVD editing and authoring is just too cumbersome.Having said that, the actual time to burn the DVD was fairly fast; about 40 minutes for a 25 minute movie on a 1.8 Pentium M class CPU with 1 gig of ram.If you don?t mind mediocre software that is anything but intuitive, then Nero is for you. As for me, I?m still looking for some stable, feature rich DVD editing software.

  Overall: Customer service inapt. Failure to answer e-mails. Download corrupted. Over charged by Euro Exchange Rate. Order cancelled. Nero refused to refund. A German company - hard to get issue resolved. Recommend Roxio instead. They answer e-mails and generally give good service and an excellent product - Roxio Creator Version 7.
