  Strengths: The unit is very reliable. Excellent software, and is compatible with most media.

  Weaknesses: None found so far.

  Overall: I'm very please with this memorex. I have had good luck in backing up my movie on to DVD". Your able to use nero to do all your DVD and CD writing. I would stronly recommend this unit to anyone interested in a very reliable unit.

  Strengths: Great Burner, burned as advervised

  Weaknesses: It did not like my less expensive DVD-R disks

  Overall: I love this burner. It was black and silver in color and matched the system that I put it in very well. Documentation was good, software was good too if you like Roxio.

  Strengths: Very good compability. Read and write every DVD media put in.

  Weaknesses: Some CDRW disc can not be read.

  Overall: I've been tested this drive for various media. It is a very good drive overall. Good compatility, Stable performance, quiet. Great for playing DVD media or burning DVD. However, it seems it can not substitute my CDRW drive for some work.

  Strengths: Simple to install/excellent performance

  Overall: Being a IT professional I get to pruchase and test different DVD burner for clients. I was very impressed with the Memorex dual DVD+-RW writer. Visual appealling and it works flawlessly, an excllent purchase.

  Strengths: Installation is straightforward, excellent write performance in burning DVD and CD's; works well with Nero 6

  Weaknesses: Included software did not play well with my system, intalling Easy CD/DVD Creator trashed my Windows XP system, thankfully I backed up my Windows drive before it did it's damage.

  Overall: The included documentation was quite good and the drive was very easy to configure and install. Neither the system BIOS nor Windows XP had any problems recognizing and configuring this drive. The installation went extremely well up to the point I uninstalled my current CD burning software, (Nero 6 Ultro) and attempted to install the included EZ CD/DVD Creator Software. For whatever reason this product did not play well with my Windows installation and the net result was that it completely trashed Windows and made my system effectively unbootable. Fortunately I had an image backup and was able to restore my system without too much aggrevation. The upside is that this drive works well in Nero 6 so I am very pleased with the drive itself. I am not slamming EZ CD/DVD Creator, I know it has a good reputation and a large following but clearly in my case it caused a major systems crash. Therefore while I rate the drive as an excellant buy I would highly recommend that you back up your system before installing the included software.
