Strengths: Size, able to mount on wall, signal strenghth.
Weaknesses: adapter is a little clunky,it defeats the purpose of the compact size of the repeater.
Overall: I have no complaints with this item. Works great! fixed my dead zone problem. For some reason I actually thought I wouldn't have to plug it into the router for it to work; silly me. I had no problem installing and setting up because I read the product reviews before I purchased. Thats to everyone who wrote a helpfull review.

Strengths: Cheap works GREAT
Weaknesses: Lousy manual and guide, dont use them!!
Overall: Don't even bother with the manual just go the reviews you see here on AMAZON. Remember to use the LAN MAC ADDRESS of your router. And don't relie upon the lights to tell you its working and I couldn't ping it from my wireless DELL AXIM X5, but it WAS working and I had EXCELLENT signal throughout nearly my WHOLE house. Whereas I had poor signal or none before.

Strengths: size, construction, web-based setup menu, system requirements and compatibility clearly stated on package.
Weaknesses: documentation not so strong - esp. if not using default settings.
Overall: This repeater is AWESOME!!! I recently created a coverage hole by moving my Linksys BEFSR11S4 wireless router. Tried to use a Linksys WAP11 as a router, but it will not bridge for the BEFSR11S4. Saw a review that suggested that D-Link's DWL-800AP+ might work with my router, so I gave it a shot. The setup was a little more complicated than the instructions assumed, as I had to change IPs on one of my computers so I could access the repeater and configure it, but it works beautifully. Great reception and signal. I put it at the far end of my router's range, and it has performed like a champ. D-Link only guarantees that it will work as a repeater with a limited number of their own products, but it DOES work perfectly as a repeater for my Linksys!!!

Strengths: Works great when you get it running, reasonable price.
Weaknesses: Instructions manual could be better written.
Overall: I am an IT support person and it took me a few tries before I could get this thing to work correctly. I wish the manual could be more clear. If you are using this as a repeater for your DI-614+ router, you must enter the LAN MAC (not the WAN MAC, not the wireless MAC as I thought) address of the DI-614+ on the DWL-800AP config screen. When you get it working, you will see the DWL-800AP's MAC address as your primary signal source in your wireless adapter/nic software. I dont think the builtin software in WINXP shows the signal source MAC address, you will need to install additional software. Check your adapter/nic manufacturer's CD. Also get the firmware update on D-Link's website. They claim it improves performance. I was able to extended the range from the basement to the first floor whereas before the signal strength on the first floor before installing the DWL-800AP was 60% with occasional signal loss. After installing the DWL-800AP, signal strength was 98% with no loss. However it must be noted that this is 98% strength with the DWL-800AP as the source, not the DI-614+ router. I would estimate the overall improvement to be 20-30%. Not bad for $49 after $20 rebate from J&R.
