Research in Motion BlackBerry 7230

  Strengths: Great having a phone and pda in one unit. Having the address book available makes calling and emailing easier.

  Weaknesses: The only thing, I can say is there dosen't seem to be any software available for 7230.

  Overall: I purchased the 7230 because of the color and it is much easier to read than it's counterpart the 6230. The device does everything and more than I expected. I used to carry a pager, cell phone and a Compaq Ipaq and this is the best of both worlds.

  Strengths: The ability to carry 1 device and handle email away from your desk

  Weaknesses: Does 1 thing at a time reasonably well. Did not replace my Palm! The PDA function while using the phone is less than stellar. I have old digital phones more capable. RIMM- I'll field test a new one

  Overall: I own the 7230 Color model w/cell service from T-Mobile.You need to be aware that [as they tell me] RIMM does NOT write the software, the cellular carrier does. It seems to me the 7230 is adapted to phone use, meaning this useage is the least developed. Common functions that are 1 or 2 key touches for most phones are either unnecessarily complicated or immpossible to do on a Blackberry. Those criticisms aside it is a definite convenience to get your email all day away from a desk.
