Canon PowerShot SD100 Digital Camera (Canon-8395A001)

Performance
Overall rating78
Image quality: To gauge picture quality, we take a series of shots, with and without flash, at 640 by 480 resolution and at the camera's highest resolution. We photograph a complex still life and a mannequin to see how well each camera captures details and subtle colorings such as skin tones. A panel of judges reviews the on-screen and printed photos and assigns image-quality scores; we then average those scores.Good

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Size and durability. Quality of pics. Good 3-minute movies with mono audio sound.

Weaknesses: A 3x optical could have been very good!

Overall Evaluation: UPDATE: Nov. 06, 2004 Tried it with a 128MB Sandisk, Edge and Viking SD cards - no problem. Battery charger worked great with 220V AC. For the price after rebate and a free 128MB SD card plus extra compatible battery pack (at Officexxx.com), how could i complain. Will take it with me, always when i go out. Bought a 256MB Kingston SD card as backup. Mastered it after constant practise of taking pictures/movies using one hand. You have to use the strap just in case you lost hold of the camera.
