AOC LM729 Review

- With an eye-catching price of $449 (at the time of our review), the LM729 doesn't cost much more than a 15-inch LCD, but it provides higher resolution (1280 by 1024 pixels) and a lot more screen space. Its smooth adjustments include tilt, swivel, and height extension (up to about 4 inches). The panel pivots between landscape and portrait modes, too, and includes Portrait Displays' Pivot Pro software for flipping the screen image accordingly. Sleekly designed, the LM729's brushed-silver and black bezel is less than an inch wide, with an extra inch and a quarter at the bottom to accommodate a pair of two-watt stereo speakers (the speakers are good for playing basic system sounds, but they won't rock the house).

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: the sound built in i like the idea of not having the speakers.

    Weaknesses: it is heavier then i thought.

    Overall Evaluation: the speakers are built in so you don't need the big bulky one. which is good for my little space. it is so much better then my old screen. playing wow on it is just awesome. i would buy again. and the price wasn't bad for a 17" LCD either.

    Strengths: I like that the monitor is adjustable and the pivot ability is nice for typing pages. Bright, clear screen.

    Weaknesses: None that I know of.

    Overall Evaluation: I have been using this monitor at work for over a month so I bought one for home. I actually bought a Samsung first but returned it because I liked this one better. I like that the monitor is adjustable. It is bright and clear. Built in speakers are fine for my needs. A good product at a good price. Local computer store said AOC is a good, reliable brand. Great price through pricegrabber.com.
