Strengths: Have all your music at one time. You don't have to pick a specific CD, it's all in one spot.
Weaknesses: Battery life does not seem to last to long, at least for my use.
Overall: It is a great product to have. I use it practicly every day. You can have up to 1,000 of your favorite songs at your finger tips. It's small so you can have it any where. It is so easy to put songs on it from your collection of music, as well as purchase songs off of the music store. It really only takes a couple of minutes to add songs. I highly recomend it for any music lover.

Strengths: Holds a lot of music, small, light
Weaknesses: the battery sucks, if you're not careful with the click wheel volume, you can inadvertently blast your ears
Overall: I got mine free from my old boss - if I had paid for this I would have been disappointed. iTunes is the bigger culprit rather than the actual ipod itself. When I bought a new computer, even though I followed directions for transferring my purchased music, I lost several songs. Very irritating

Strengths: holds lots of music, easy to use, small, lightweight, sound quality
Weaknesses: pricey, no radio functionality
Overall: This is the first MP3 player that I've bought and used. My main reason for purchasing it is to use to workout. After purchasing and using it, I noticed I could've bought the shuffle for cheaper since that was my only reason for buying it. The shuffle does hold less songs, but who really needs 1000 songs if only using it to work out?

Strengths: Mechanically it is hard to imagine something built more sturdily. Like most Apple products, this is the sort of thing that can be used in textbooks on how to design consumer hardware.
Weaknesses: It is designed for only one person to use it. If you load it with songs and someone else connects it to their computer, it wants to synchronize and will destroy the contents
Overall: When it tries to synchronize with another instance of iTunes you have two choices: (1) do not synchronize or (2) lose all the music currently stored on the iPod. Also, iTunes would not allow me to store other things I was able to play on the iMac in iTunes (MP3 files located elsewhere on my house network). I don't know that it is impossible to get the songs loaded, but it is certainly not obvious how to do so. I was able to load music from some CDs I had (both purchased and burned collections of songs I have). Overall, the hardware is awesome looking, but I found the supporting software on the Mac and PC to be very disappointing. I have been a Mac (and PC) user since the Lisa came out and found the software weaknesses particularly irritating given what I have come to expect from the Macintosh platform. I suppose my problem is that I do not give much weight to what admittedly is some seriously cool packaging. I also found menu navigation a bit painful, although the basic controls (skip forward/backward, play/pause, etc.) were very simple and efficient, and as these are likely to be 90% of the access for a typical user, I think the time and energy on the user interface went into the right part.To be fair, if you take this fresh out of the box and only use it for yourself, I would probably rate this at least 'satisfactory'.

Strengths: VERY good sound quality, lots of storage, easy use.
Weaknesses: Must look at screen, wheel is sometimes hard to operate.
Overall: I LOVE this product! It is my 1st Mp3 Player, so I was a novice, but it took me about 3 min. to figure it out. The battery life is great, and so charging isn't a daily process. The only problem: I run a lot and to pick a song you must look at the screen. Overall, this is a great Mp3 player, and it is worth the money.
