Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Incorporates all the tools you need to burn, copy and make CD/DVD's, in one package.
Weaknesses: While this is a very good product, it appears to have to many different interfaces, thus it is quite large,(over 700 MB's) for the complete install.
Overall Evaluation: Although I have only been using Pinnacle for the past 10 days, it does appear to be more stable than ROXIO, and the NTI cd/dvd burning software. Only time will tell if this is a truly outstanding product. So far though, I am thoroughly pleased with it's performance.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: It will edit your mpg and avi files and make a lovely dvd with menus that looks great. It does cd and dvd burning and copying fine as long as the source is not copyprotected, (most dvd's are).
Weaknesses: If this package worked, (although it's slow at rendering), I'd love it. Its buggy, crash prone, and difficult to install. I've removed it from my system.
Overall Evaluation: This package requires that you kill absolutely everything running in background to install it and probably to have removed all other cd burning software as well. Registry cleaning may be required and I've spent entirely too much time editing my registry trying to make this software happy before install. It won't live with Roxio or Nero software in my machine and is iffy at the video editing that it does. (Crashing 2 1/2 hours into the rendering often) It's not an easy program to live with. I've rebooted my machine more trying to install and uninstall this software in the past week than it has been rebooted in the past two years. If they ever fix it, I'd love to have it.
