Weaknesses: It doesn't work. Shuts down. You positively cannot make a movie.

Overall: Even for $20.00 it is a waste of money and customer service is a complete joke. I tried several movie makers and this is one of the worst ones. Buy Adobe Premiere Elements...Great!

Strengths: Nice features

Weaknesses: extremely unstable

Overall: terrible. It is the most unstable program I have ever used. Pinnacle should refund me. I spent weeks working on my last project while rendering file was corrupted. i had backup file but still no luck. System is good and have installed all updates 2.0g ram 300g sata hd. get the word out DO NOT BUY THIS PROGRAM! I am looking for a program with the same feature ,chroma key, pic in pic, multiple audio layers. What is good?

Strengths: Nice transitions and title overlays.

Weaknesses: Rendering is like a hit and miss.

Overall: I was able to burn a 45 minute video but it was such an ordeal. The rendering is slow plus it hangs towards the end. So, you have to repeat the whole process over again. My persistence paid off and finally I was able to finish the project. Burning without stalling takes about 3 hours. The patches does not work, don't bother. You'll be better off leaving the software on its own. In fairness to Pinnacle, the DVD really looks great on a widescreen TV. Title overlays and Hollywood transitions are just awesome.

Overall: Now, this is a software editing tool that looks so simple that you really do not need to read the manual to get started. It is obviously targeted at the home-video user who wants to make a nice looking DVD without having to understand what digital video is made of. So far so good. But as all the other reviews state, this software is so unstable that it is actually unusable for anything more complicated than a cut or 20. The number of crashes, unexplainable artifacts and error messages I have encountered in my few years of experience with this program is just unacceptable. I've been working with Studio since version 8. Every month or so tey release a software update with tens of bug-fixes, but I never noticed a decrease in the number of crashes. In some cases the program even knows it is about to crash and informs the user to restart the program and simply try again! As a programmer, I can tell you that this means they know it has a bug, they know when it happens, but they just can't fix it. This is no commercial product. It has the value of a poor béta software release and it is the worst I've ever seen. On top of this, the software is so packed with features you have to pay for to unlock, that it is rather one big advertisement than a video editing tool. Take my word for it: Avoid. Weaknesses: It Always Hangs and works unstable!

Overall: It's very bad. i work with since jan 2004 and i hope fix it's bug with upgrade from pinnacle. my pc is athlon barton 2600+ / 512 mb ddr ram/ grource 4 with 256 mb vram and when render and burn one project (90 minutes dvd movie with menu and no any effects) it's work 4 hours and final dvd is unusable because last 30 minutes of movie is jercky and unreadable by my dvd player!
