  Strengths: cool style, protective screen, execllent picture quality,

  Overall: the price of this one is higher than most 17"lcd in the market, $549 when i bought this. at that same time the Dell E172FP 17"lcd only cost $399. it's $150 difference, however, i think it worth that price becuz it has much better quality than the dell E172fp, even they both has 16ms response time, i see ghost on the dell e172fp and not the NEC when i try them with a same desktop. as a result, i give this one a 5 star!!!!!!!!!

  Overall: I love this monitor. I wish I had the money to buy one for each of my machines. It is very fast and works great for gaming. I've had mine for six months and haven't had a problem. The only thing I wish was different was the height of the base. I solved that by buying a 4.5" monitor stand.

  Strengths: Styling, Self adjusting picture, Protective screen, Picture Quality (even at non optimal resolutions)

  Weaknesses: Stand height, particles in between screen and protective screen

  Overall: This monitor looks beautiful on any desk. I went to a computer store to browse screens before I bought one online. I liked the 1765 because of the styling and picture quality. The recommended resolution is 1280x1024, however some people with bad eyes might have a hard time viewing some of the smaller text. Of all the screens I saw (including the sony), the 1765 had the best picture when the monitor was set at NON-Recommended resolutions (such as 1024x768). There still was some blurriness with text at the resolution, but it was less apparent with th 1765 than with the other screens. The one problem I am having is with the space in between the actual screen and the protective screen that this monitors has. I like that fact that there is a protective screen but in this case, there are 2 tiny black plastic particles stuck in the space between the protective screen and the LCD Screen. I have talked to NEC about this and they are going to replace this monitor free of charge. If I have the same problem with the next one, I'll let you know.

  Strengths: this monitor has a crystal clear picture; best ive ever seen. i love this monitor so much that i bought two of them. this one also has a $70 manufacture rebate that ends 7/31.

  Weaknesses: NEC are usually very expensive

  Overall: This product surpased all my initial expectations. I didnt expect to have such a nice colorful picture. It has a one year warranty with it...i like the fact that the buttons are all on the side. Just looking at the monitor, it is actually very shiny because there is a piece of glass/plastic covering the lcd screen; protecting the lcd from damage. its great.

  Strengths: stylish design, image quality

  Weaknesses: slight glare from protective screen, 1 year warranty

  Overall: The display?s sleek and modern aesthetics became the envy of my friends. I felt like a young child on Christmas when I anxiously opened the box. I felt like a frustrated naïve child when I tried to setup the monitor as well. The monitor?s stand is incredible too stiff, and at times thought I was going to break the stand while folding it out. Besides that, the weight and size of the 1765 made it easier to handle then the monstrous 19in CRT predecessor. The first thing I noticed when I turned it on was the brilliance of the colors and image quality. Secondly, there weren?t any dead pixels to be found (the display model had a few). Thirdly, unfortunately, the glare that the protective screen produced. I found this surprising since many modern CRT screens have a antiglare coating. But this trivial annoyance is quickly overshadowed by the overall quality of the monitor. The fast response time of the monitor is excellent for watching/playing fast paced images. The auto adjusting and controls are nicely laid out. This monitor is a great buy and should only disappoint the overly picky.
