Duration of ownership:
Strengths: No bad burn so far even with value DVD+-R/RW.
Weaknesses: None.
Overall Evaluation: If you burn movies, then use good name brands of blank media. I burn my value DVDs for data/pics backup only.With the 16X DL burner going cheaper, better buy this one for less than $30, not more.

Overall Evaluation: It has none problems with all the media I have tested. I did not use the burning software came with it. Nero, which is my favorite, works great with it.
