    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Compatible with a variety of media, quiet, burns CD-R at 40X and DVD's at 12X

    Weaknesses: This drive is fussy with the type of media used

    Overall Evaluation: I have this drive contained in a ADS USB 2.0 External Case. Very good drive but if you're using "cheap" DVD media the drive doesn't burn so well. For instance, when using Nero 6.x the drive's "Lead In" fluctuates and burn slowly, thus I have to use a slower burning speed (such as 4X) for the DVD to be burned successfully. Other than this issue of using cheap media, this drive burns my CD-R's and DVD perfectly when using quality media such as RiDATA and BenQ discs.

    Strengths: Can use any media

    Weaknesses: Haven't really found any.

    Overall Evaluation: I've purchased a couple of other DVD writers and had problems using all media in the drive. This drive accepts any of the media I have purchased to this point. Would I recommend it to someone, you bet. It's the best I've found so far and I think this is my 3rd dvd drive.
