  Overall Evaluation: We have had 2 of them in the past 2 months and neither of them worked for more than 2 weeks. Now, it's frozen on one song and we cannot do anything with it. We have tried to work with the seller and have gotten one replacement, but experienced the exact same problems as our original purchase.

  Strengths: Design, controls, size

  Weaknesses: Prone to harddisk defects, battery not replacable by user, not working smoothly under windows xp, freezes often, no user adjustable equalizer

  Overall Evaluation: My ipod lasted for 1 y and 10 month. During this time the machine had to restored at least 5-10 times. Operation with XP and iTunes never worked smoothly, switching to winamp solved the problem partly. It crashed two times completely so that I had to format the drive two times, which is not an easy thing for an unexperienced user. The life time of my ipod ended in a (surprise) harddisk defect. To be fair one has to mention that all harddisk based mp3-player are sensitive products if it comes to the harddisk. I think a flashdrive based player is a saver thing to buy or buy the extended warranty.
