Belkin BELKIN F5D7231-4 High-Speed Mode 802.11g Router
User Reviews for Belkin BELKIN F5D7231-4 High-Speed Mode 802.11g Router

Duration of ownership: 24 Months
Strengths: OK for use in small house and for limited use of wireless network when there are no 2.45GH phones at home or around.
Weaknesses: Losing signal when there are 2.45GH phone rings and when other wifi signal detected. No good for VPN or media transfer. I'm with Belkin tech support for the last 2 years and replaced 2 routers, eventually they have admitted that Belkin does not have any wifi router for Media xfer use or high traffic use.
Overall Evaluation: Good support with life time warranty but bad product and fail to deliver the reliability. Poor and not stable GUI.

Strengths: Better signal than my other routers, good performance sometimes, easy to setup
Weaknesses: Doesn't work with bittorent programs, slows down sometimes,
Overall Evaluation: The wireless signal is not bad I owned Linksys wrt54gs and this router has stronger signal than that router, maybe not stronger but my laptop doesn't disconnect that much. I was using bittorent program with this router and for some reason once bittorent reach certain speed, router would casue internet to turn off and eventually to slow it down. Even after bittorrent was shut down internet was slow, only computer reboot would fix that problem. I went to check on the firmware, it turn out that firmware on the router was newer than what it was on the belkin website. I tried flashing that router and router didn't die but it is not longer accessable, same as dead. From my experience belkin products don't perform well and I will avoid buying them.

Strengths: Easy install. Good signal in house.
Weaknesses: sometime I have to reboot router.
Overall Evaluation: Basically it's a good router at all -- based on its price and high-speed connection. But I was just not happy with some weakness. Sometime I have to reboot the router (about every 10 days), otherwise the connection look not disconnected but actually there's no data in and out. Signal is good. I placed it on the first floor in my house, and I use my laptop on second floor. No signal lost (it's strong). Configuration is easy, and most people can do it without any trouble. I gave it 3 stars.

Strengths: Installation was easy to setup. Works well with other Belkin Wireless products. Had decent signal strength in my apartment.
Weaknesses: Did not like to cooperate with the D-Link wireless G notebook card that I had.
Overall Evaluation: As long as you stick with Belkin wireless cards, this router will work well. Had mixed signal reception with D-Link wireless card that I had. Your mileage will vary.

Strengths: very fast
Weaknesses: looks not that cute
Overall Evaluation: I bought this for my home network, and I found it is really very fast. Much better than the normal 54Mbps model. The only thing I don't like is that like all other Belkin products, the design is not that modern.

Strengths: Excellent as a cable modem
Weaknesses: may not be asa DSL wireless router
Overall Evaluation: The Belkin High-Speed Wrls. G Router works excellent as a cable modem wireless router, but not as a DSL wireless router.I put the Belkin wireless router in my house where I have Cable modem connection and works awesome! I have discover that the Belkin wireless Router is designed specially for cable modem connection but have technical problems with the DSL Protocols from providing companies, so in clear words, this router is perfect for cable modem connections but a nightmare for DSL.
