What You Should Know about the Deskjet 5740 Inkjet Printer
Installed Memory is Ideal for Five or Fewer Users
This printer's installed memory is sufficient for small offices or workgroups that print typical business documents, such as memos, spreadsheets, or simple Web pages. If you have more than six people using the printer or the printer handles heavy traffic, you will want more memory than this printer provides.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: This Printer has it all. The HP Deskjet 5740 is extremely fast and reliable. It senses the paper type automaticly and even tells you which ink cartrage is out. Great price for a great product Quiet, nicely built. Very beautiful and streamlined
Weaknesses: Power Brick, but other than that nothin really. No USB cable was included requires a B/A cable
Overall Evaluation: If you have cats that like to play on your computer desk make sure that you put the tray up after you're done with it as enough weight can break it off as it is on the front and has a front paper tray.

Strengths: Fast, print quality is good.
Weaknesses: Printer is fairly large. Supplies are expensive.
Overall Evaluation: This is a great general purpose light volume printer. The print quality, like most of the newer HP DeskJet printers is very good in both black and color. The printer is a little large for an inkjet, but it isn't unreasonable. The only problem is that the print cartriges (like most other ink printers) are quite expensive and don't last very long; but I believe they do contain about twice as much ink as the 92/93 series cartridges that some of the other newer HP printers use. I'd try to avoid any of the HP printers that use the 92/93 cartridges.
