HP F1903
Pavilion F1903 19'' LCD Monitor Review, by Laura Blackwell November 19, 2004
The HP F1903 looks great on the outside, with its soft pewter coloring and its clean, gently rounded lines. All the buttons are clearly marked and easy to see. Unlike many units built for looks, the F1903 is height-adjustable and can swivel left and right. The metallic design extends to the on-screen manager, which looks more like music player software than like the usual block-lettered menu.
Unfortunately, the screen itself was less than thrilling, displaying dull, grayish colors on all graphics tests. Detail disappeared in dark areas, but bright areas showed excellent detail; this helped the F1903 earn a Good rating for graphics. It fared worse on text, delivering the poorest scores we've seen lately on our Microsoft Word and Excel screens.
Upshot: Its polished industrial design doesn't make up for the HP F1903's poor image quality.

Strengths: Good color and sharp
Weaknesses: The Screen gets warm and starts to malfunction with strips of black amd technicolor green
Overall: I bought my hp Pavilion in May, 04 (a little over a year ago). The 19"hp Pavilion F1903 monitor only works until it starts getting warm. After the monitor is on about 1 hours, it starts fading to gray in the center of the screen then gradually blacks out all of the screen except the very top. During the time it is beginning to black, it also has bands of bright technicolor green intermingled. When it starts blacking out, I can't get in to shut the computer down. I have been very disappointed that the flat pannel monitor went out shortly after the one year warrenty expired.
