Sharp LL-191A
LL 191A-B 19 Review, by Laura Blackwell November 22, 2004
Sharp's LL-191A scored well on all our text screens. On one of our black-and-white test screens--designed to elicit shimmer or interference--closely spaced lines looked especially sharp. The monitor scored in the top third of recently tested 19-inch LCDs and earned a Very Good rating for text. On our graphics tests, the LL-191A scored only Good, partly because photo screens looked a bit washed out. And the LL-191A had trouble making the darker shades in our grayscale test stand out from a black background.
The LL-191A's control buttons reside in comfortable finger-wells on the underside of the bezel, making the buttons easy to locate by feel. Contrasting labels on the front of the bezel direct you to the correct button. The physical adjustments don't show as much thought; the LL-191A offers only the ability to tilt. The screen control presets--'cool', 'warm', and the configurable 'user'--seem rudimentary, but the LL-191A also offers gain control and gamma control for the more exacting user.
Upshot: The Sharp LL-191A is a safe bet for text work but a long shot for graphics.

Strengths: Good size and viewing angle, good text representation, and vibrant bright colors
Weaknesses: Dark scenes are often too dark
Overall: This monitor has been fine for me and it can be fine for you too if you think it's a good price compared to other available models with similar specs. I hope that the Sharp name truly adds assurance that the monitor will last for a while. I recommend the monitor if you really need a monitor that is 19" and have a limited budget (and 16ms refresh can be good for video and games too).
Sorry, the product you requested isn't currently available from any of our sellers.
