NEC MultiSync LCD1935NXM
MultiSync LCD1935NXM Review, by Laura Blackwell November 22, 2004
If your work consists mostly of text processing, NEC's MultiSync LCD1935NXM could be a good deal for you. At $579, its price is $80 lower than the average of $659 for the 14 monitors we reviewed in January 2005; and it earned a Very Good score for text display, with crisp letters and nice contrast, particularly on our Microsoft Excel screen.
On graphics, however, this monitor didn't come through. In our people shot, faces looked pale and washed out. Judges remarked on the overexposed appearance the LCD1935NXM gave not only the group photo, but also the screen of a brightly colored fruit tart. These shortcomings made the LCD1935NXM one of the least impressive graphics performers we've seen lately, and earned it a rating of Fair for graphics quality.
With no physical adjustments other than tilt, this monitor may not support comfortable viewing for all users. We heard a little hiss on sibilants when testing the built-in speakers; for clearest audio, you'll probably want to employ the headphone jack.
Upshot: Nicely priced monitor delivers good-looking text but just passable graphics.
19-inch screen, 1280 by 1024 native resolution, 13.2 pounds, panel type not disclosed by vendor, analog and digital interfaces. One-year warranty; 24-hour daily toll-free tech support.

Strengths: Great design, bright and clear picture, dual input connectors (VGA & DVI) and cool on screen control
Weaknesses: 16ms response time may not be enough for games and movies
Overall: This monitor is backed with 3 years manufacturer warranty which is typical for brand name makers such as Sony, Samsung, HP, etc. Even though the 16ms response time is not good for games and movies, it should be good for home and office use. No dead pixel was found. Happy with it. The On Screen Contrl design was cool.

Strengths: Great Desgin, Brighter than my other LCDs (HP/BenQ), Works GREAT; I leave it on a for hours, no dead pixels, nothing wrong and NEC warranty is amazing!
Weaknesses: Height Adjustment is the only thing I can think of.
Overall: This monitor is certainly well-made and is a great bargain for someone looking for a cheap monitor. I recommend this monitor to anyone on a budget and is looking for great performance and beautiful design.

Strengths: Easy Plug and Play; bright image; built-in stereo speaker, supplied with audio cable.
Weaknesses: Digital control is not easy to handle with.
Overall: This is a great low-end 19" LCD. Its resolution is not the highest one on the market, but the image is sharp enough. The contrast ratio is also OK with me. The built-in speakers saved a lot of desk space. The response time is not criticizable. The one complaint is the on screen digital control. I don't know how this is designed, basically you just need place your finger on the surface of the button without pushing it. This seems cool, but is not easy to control. Usually the cursor scrolls along the menu hardly stopping where I want it to. Despite this, I will give at least 4.5 out of 5 for this monitor
