Strengths: HD picture - elegant design - lightweight LCD panel
Weaknesses: SD picture is disappointing
Overall Evaluation: I bought this LCD TV for the kitchen where it is attached to a ceiling arm/mount. With the two attached speakers removed, this panel presents a huge picture in a small "footprint". Sources are Dishnetwork HD Sat Box and upconverting DVD player at 1080i. I get some nice off-air HD channels too, but the programming is too dismal for me to care. I hope the Wimbledon and French Open finals will be broadcast in HD. One problem - I choose this model because all the input/control functions are contained in a seperate box. This was important because I didn't want several bundles of cables going to the display, not to mention the thickness and weight of the LCD panel itself is lowered because a lot of electronics is contained inthe AVC box. However the sharp system cable which links the "AVC" box and the lcd panel is only 9 ft long. Sharp offers a 33ft cable as the only option at around $750. This is crazy, and I am looking for alternatives. One possibility is custom cables, another is that the japanese sharp site has a 22ft cable for $200 but I am not sure these will work in a US market unit. Check out the thread on AVS ForumAlso I bought from dbuys.com - great site. The TV arrived in four days even though I only had ground shipping (10-14 days)

Strengths: Picture, clarity and overall look of the t.v.
Weaknesses: The only thing I can say is it's a bit difficult to set up yourself. We tried and just couldn't get it right, so we called our cable company for help and they set it up correctly.
Overall Evaluation: This is by far one of the best LCD's out there, the picture clarity is amazing especially in HDTV mode. It's almost as if the pictures jump out at you! I just stare it in amazement. The sound is superb as well. DVD's that you've had will now look totally different to you. I can't say enough about this t.v. - it is a bit on the high end as far as price goes, but it's so worth it when you think of it long term and how technology is changing so rapidely - this t.v. has the Cable Card Slot which most t.v. will have in 2006. I would highly recommend it.

Strengths: Solid picture and colors, Very good sound.
Weaknesses: Not sure where preamp output is for stereo. However does have 5th speaker output for surround sound.
Overall Evaluation: Very pleased with TV and would buy again. Colors realistic, great sound from the side speakers. Interfaces much better with DVD and cable than my old CRT television. Well worth the many hours spent comparing brands at the video stores.

Strengths: One of the best design for a television. Has ouput for computer. Can view pictures with pc card.
Weaknesses: I wish the price better.
Overall Evaluation: I think this is one of the best purchases I made in awhile. I have been wanting this tv for a long time but could not afford it. The design and features are amazing. I will be happy with this tv for a long time to come. Get this tv already.
