What You Should Know about the HL-2700CN Laser Printer (31 PPM, 2400x600 DPI, Color, 64MB, PC/Mac)

Installed Memory is Ideal for Five or Fewer Users

This printer's installed memory is sufficient for small offices or workgroups that print typical business documents, such as memos, spreadsheets, or simple Web pages. If you have more than six people using the printer or the printer handles heavy traffic, you will want more memory than this printer provides.

Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Wonderful toner capacity, very straight forward maintenance, very easy to configure and set up. Cost per print equalizes the high cost for parts.

Weaknesses: A little noisey. only 64mb memory (it's upgradable). Isn't wireless. Parts are pricey, but the printer still pays for itself.

Overall Evaluation: I got this printer for a steal for $50. I felt like I had to be looking over my shoulder after I paid for it. It has nearly 100,000 prints on it and the color toners are original as they are refillable. I've printed maybe 2000 prints with it and it's already paid for itself probably 10 times over. Wonderful printer!

Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Easy to use,Fast monochrome text speed,network-ready, large-capacity cartridge.

Weaknesses: Limited paper storage,a little bit noisy.

Overall Evaluation: I bought this machine for $500 with $50 rebate. The installation is easy and is the fastest color laser printer so far. It offers impressive print quality with crispy and great details. I bought this printer because it has large-capacity cartridge (Yields up to 6,600 pages with $150 for each cartridge). The HL-2700CN includes a CompactFlash card slot, which, with the addition of a CompactFlash card, you can use to store and reprint large documents, as well as for storing special font and frequently used forms and templates. The LCD screen can shows the status of the printing. Although it's a little bit noisy during printing, I recommend this printer for small business.
