Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Simple sturdy design. Inexpensive alternative to a backlit keyboard.
Weaknesses: None yet
Overall Evaluation: I like to work in the livingroom sometimes while the game is on and used to tilt the screen of my laptop at an angle that would allow me to see the keys. As you can imagine, that is not the most comfortable way to work. I saw the Flylight on sale for $10, so I figure what the heck. In the store the Flylight was next to Targus' light that actually clips on to the top of the screen. The Targus concept seemed like a better idea but it was a little too bulky to be a good travel companion for my powerbook. I was immediately impressed the the weight. It is sturdy but not too heavy. A simple one piece design that coils up and stores away easily. My only concern is that I can't tell if the bulb is replaceable but by the time the Flylight dies out, I should be able to afford a Powerbook with a backlit keyboard. Until then, this is a great alternative.
