Canon Pixma Photo iP8500 Inkjet Printer (16 PPM, 4800x2400 DPI, Color, 80KB, PC/Mac)

  Strengths: Exellent photo print quality.

  Weaknesses: A bit bulky -- takes up more room than my old printer.

  Overall: I bought this printer at a friend's urging and found it to live up to its hype. Its printed photos are much better than my old printer's. An excellent choice for someone seeking an affordable family photo printer.

  Strengths: Brillant colors, quiet, and the printer itself takes up far less space than my previous S9000.

  Weaknesses: The Cannon ink cartridges are expensive. But ONLY use the recommended Cannon ink. I ruined my expensive S9000 with supposed compatible ink. Don't be lured by cheap prices.

  Overall: Colors are brilliant, the printer is easy to use and this printer has more color cartridges, so the colors are superior to other printers. I am not very saavy when it comes to reading instructions, but these were a breeze to follow. I also like the feature of being able to have two type of paper loaded and ready to go.

  Strengths: Has both a sheet feeder and a cassette tray capable of holding both letter size paper and 4x6 photo paper, selected by a front panel switch. Automatic Duplex printing from either tray.

  Weaknesses: Had to contact Canon to learn how to print a test page. Test page doesn't show accurate color capability of printer.

  Overall: The Canon iP8500 prints color photos exactly as I see them on my Monitor. This was not the case with my previous HP Deskjet. I print a 4x6 color photo from my JASC Photo Album 5 software in 35 seconds using the high speed USB connection. I like being able to keep letter size paper in the cassette tray and using the sheet feeder for photo paper and selecting the trays via the front panel switch. I like the automatic preview option prior to sending a photo to the printer. I also like the automatic duplex printing whenever there's more than one page to print - this saves paper and file space! Last, but not least, having 8 individual ink cartridges saves money by replacing only the one that's empty - Canon's software alerts you to this. Canon has really done their homework on this printer!

  Strengths: extremly high quality prints. Prints a 4 x6 in less than 25 seconds. Easy to put paper in either the tray or feeder.

  Weaknesses: The only downside is that you cannot connect your compact flash directly to your printer. Even lower priced printers offer this. Also no LCD screen.

  Overall: overall a very good printer. Very happy with the quality of the 4 x 6's and the one 8x10 I've printed. bought mine through buydig.com for 310.00 prints much better on the Canon photo pro paper. You can find this on the web in a 75 pack for 23.00 shipping included. (at databazaar.com)

  Strengths: 8 color cartridge, 2 paper trays one for photos and one for regular paper. awsome color and detail.

  Weaknesses: can't find one yet

  Overall: cannon is one of the best printers out there on the market. it has an awsome 8 color cartridge. this helps with the expence of buying inch because you only have to buy the ink for one color instead of one color running out and you have to replace all colors. that is a great feature.
