Bottom Line
Extensive features make the Photosmart 8150 well suited for amateur photographers, though its printing costs are high.
Installed Memory is Ideal for Five or Fewer Users
This printer's installed memory is sufficient for small offices or workgroups that print typical business documents, such as memos, spreadsheets, or simple Web pages. If you have more than six people using the printer or the printer handles heavy traffic, you will want more memory than this printer provides.
If You Use a Sony Camera, Print Right From Its Memory Stick
This printer can read and write to Sony's proprietary flash memory devices called Memory Sticks, and with an adapter, could also support variants such as Memory Stick Pro, Duo, Pro Duo, and Micro. Few non-Sony devices use Memory Sticks, however, the company is so large that there's still a good chance you might need to read data from one someday.
Got an Olympus or Fujifilm digicam? Print Right From the xD Card
This printer has a media slot that accommodates xD-Picture cards, one of the removable storage devices used by (mostly Olympus and Fujifilm) digital cameras.
Allows Photos to Be Printed Right From Your Camera's SD Memory Card
This printer supports Secure Digital (SD) cards; the most common storage card format used by digital cameras. MiniSD and MicroSD cards can be read by using a basic adapter. A newer standard, SDHC (HC as in "high capacity") is not backward compatible, so the slot may not read these cards. The latest SD card, the microSDHC, is the tiniest flash memory card to date, measuring only 11mm across. It's also the fastest and roomiest, capable of holding up to 16GB of data.
If you use SD cards to store photos, you can insert the card into this slot to start printing photos (instead of hooking up your entire camera via a cable). Make sure that whatever printer you buy accommodates the storage format you use.
Print Photos Right From Your Compact Flash Memory Card
This printer has a media slot that accommodates Compact Flash (CF) cards, one of the removable storage devices used by (mostly digital SLR) cameras.
PictBridge Support Allows Printing From Camera to Printer -- No Computer Needed
This printer contains a PictBridge port, which looks identical to a USB port (and can sometimes be used for USB flash drives) but is designed specifically for connecting a PictBridge-compatible camera to the machine using a special cable. This is convenient for accessing pictures from your camera using the camera's own interface and software; however, a printer with a PictBridge port probably also has a media slot to accommodate your camera's storage card.

Strengths: Good Picture Quality, Easy to setup and use
Weaknesses: Curls Paper edge, Memory Card Errors and Microsoft incompatibility
Overall: I have returned one printer already since the memory card reader was not working. When I got the new printer the memory card worked but the paper either jammed on the right hand corner or put a hole in the paper. Also, it would only print one or two lines of a page. I reloaded the software two times. Each time I reloaded the software, it would print ok but then within a couple of documents it would only print one or two lines. I am in the process of getting my 3rd printer, hope this one works better.

Strengths: High quality
Weaknesses: Expensive inks
Overall: I bought this nice HP printer about three months ago. A friend of mine recommended it to me since it?s really cheap to have it at that time. And quality of this printer is excellent. I never had any problems with this printer. But due to the high cost of inks, I?m not sure if I would continue using it when the inks run out or donate it to charities.

Strengths: Excellent quality
Weaknesses: Ink expensive
Overall: I bought this printer about three months ago when it?s on sale. Actually the printing quality is excellent. I never had any problems with this printer. However, I know I wouldn?t keep it too long since it?s very costly to buy the inks.

Strengths: Very easy to set upVery good photo qualityCan print without a computer
Weaknesses: The quality of printed text seems not as good as printed photo
Overall: the HP Photosmart 8150 is great as a photo printer and an all-purpose printer. It is small, convenient and inexpensive. If you don't have a computer, that's the right choice for you.

Strengths: This printer is so easy to use. It prints the best photos any size you want.
Weaknesses: Once the printer locked up, pressing the cancel and on/off buttons did not clear the problem. I had to unplug the power to restart the 8150 printer.
Overall: Within 10 minutes of removing it from the box I was printing pictures of outstanding quality. I must admit this is the first photo copier I have ever owned, but I am really pleased with it so far. The editing features are easy to use. There's no need to even hook it up to a computer, everything can be done with the LED screen and your memory card. The only thing I don't like about the printer is it's size. It's quite a bit larger than the Canon I was looking at. Other than that I am thrilled with it and plan on giving it as a Christmas gift to my daughter-in-law.
