Strengths: It looks nice as a door stop or paper weight
Weaknesses: All. It didnt work.
Overall: This was my first wireless router and it's been a nightmare. Physicall installation of this equipment was a snap. Get it to work was torture (Cruel and unusual punishment). After not being able to install this thing myself ( And I'm pretty computer savvy), I spent over two hours on the phone with Verizon and Linksys technical support doing all kinds of things to get this thing to work. Pinging addresses, disabling firewalls, resetting router and switching computers, modems in bridge mode, etc etc. They determined the router was defective and I went ahead and ordered a replacement. Again, the same story with the replacement except this time they pair me up with the Lord of the Wireless Networks in Technical Support and still couldn't get it to work. This router may have worked flawlessly for the majority of people but for me it was a disaster considering I replaced it for another one. There may be some major issues with this particular router so buyer please beware. If you use Verizon DSL equipment and you buy this particular linksys router you may be setting yourself up for some major hairpulling and swearing. Just get a box Tylenol or Advil before you call tech support.

Strengths: Distance, Strength, Speed
Weaknesses: supposedly, compatiblity with other brands
Overall: I have one of these routers, and the SRX card that matches it and I'm overwhelmingly impressed, I tried every combination of cards, and routers that I could find in any local store, to get coverage from one building to another 200 feet away and covered in aluminum siding. As soon as I plugged it in, not only could I see the access point in the other building, I saw signals from 10 blocks away, and the signal of my router is always over 60% I'm thrilled....

Strengths: Works well through walls and easy to setup
Weaknesses: None that we've seen so far, though the matching adapter doesn't seem to work that well on Windows XP
Overall: This router is working well for us. We're using it with two different notebooks at home. A Toshiba Satellite running Windows XP using an old Cisco wireless card and an old HP omnibook running Windows 2000 Pro with the Linksys Wireless-G Adapter with SRX. Both are working smoothly, though we had to wrestle for a while with trying to run the SRX adapter on the Toshiba and ultimately gave up.

Strengths: Security is very nice compared to older routers and the Range is great 108 MPS from downstairs.
Weaknesses: The setup takes a little longer than most routers, due to advanced security and it is a little pricey.
Overall: This is one of the best routers I have owned. One of the reviews said that the antenna's break easily, I don't know what he does with his routers; antenna's seem very sturdy as long as you don't throw the unit around the house. The thing to remember with this router is that the farther away from the router the better your speed is, within reason of course. Another thing to note is that I am using a SRX card in my laptop, which is why I am getting that speed (108 MPS). I have another laptop with built in wireless and I still get a steady 54 MPS and my XBOX live wireless unit gets a steady 54 MPS.

Strengths: Security and range.
Weaknesses: Setup can be a struggle when upgrading form older router.
Overall: Although it took me a couple of hours to set up, I think it was because of the old router and having to change to the new. Love the WPA and WPA2 as well as the antenna strength. Works well with my MAC, PC and Laptop.
