What You Should Know about the Qosmio G25-AV513 Notebook w/ Built-In TV Tuner (2.0GHz Pentium M 760, 1GB DDR2, 120GB, DVD?RW DL, Windows XP Media Center, 17

Not Much RAM for Multitasking

The more RAM your laptop has, the faster programs will run and the greater number of windows you can work in at one time. If your needs are simple and you rarely do more than two things at once on your PC, the relatively modest amount of memory that comes installed in inexpensive laptops will be enough. Today the standard amount of RAM shipped in most PCs is 2GB. If you like to multitask--say, you want to launch a search for a file and start backing up data to a disc while you watch a news video--you need more memory.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Beautiful 17" display, built-in TV tuner

Weaknesses: Surface of keyboard is very prone to fingerprints

Overall Evaluation: The Qosmio G25-AV513 is a powerful and delightful to use laptop. While it may not be quite as nice as the much more expensive Dell XPS-170, it is a great value. The biggest problem you will have is spelling the name or pronouncing it to your friends.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Like a portable desktop.

    Weaknesses: None

Overall Evaluation: I have had this lapper for 4 mos now and I drag it on the road with me everywhere I travel and it is so close to having my desktop that I bought a projector to run it at home with and I have a ball with it. I can find no fault with it.
