Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Relatively low price and good quality sound and looks from a trustworthy brand.
Weaknesses: Rear AUX (but that's just a preference).
Overall Evaluation: Quality receiver for pretty good price. There are plenty of low cost receivers out there that will give you sub-par performance. The sony GP1 gives you good quality sound and features with a price that won't break the bank. It certainly isn't the top of the line receiver, but it's fantastic for those on a budget. With cd mp3 playback good equalizer and the "innovative" 1GB storage on the faceplate it's great. No ipod connection. Auxillary connection throught the rear and amp connections through the rear as well. The lcd faceplate can also read ID3 tags.
