User Reviews for Epson PowerLite 76c LCD Projector (1024x768, 2000 Lumens, 400:1, HDTV Compatible)

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Price, brightness(lumens), ease of use, no on/off switch, fast lamp cooling, zoom, high resolution (XGA) zoom & focus lens control, keystone, relatively quiet.

    Weaknesses: Nothing considering the price!

Overall Evaluation: Bought this about 3 weeks ago and have been using it for our church on Wednesday nights. It has been everything I expected in a value projector! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a basic projector with all the necessary features.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Affordable, lightweight, bright, intuitive menus, extra care road service, padded case, competitively priced bulbs

Weaknesses: Slightly larger than some other models

Overall Evaluation: I just bought 4 of these for a training center, and I will probably be buying more of them in the future. Some of the projectors will be ceiling-mounted and others will travel. With the limited time we've been using them, they have been great. They're just small enough and very lightweight (I can easily pick the projector up with one hand). The 2000 lumen brightness is great when the projectors are used on the road in bright rooms. Navigating the menus to make adjustments is much more intuitive than other projectors I've used. The padded case is a nice extra. It is much better quality than the one that came with a Panasonic that we recently purchased. The two biggest reasons we bought this projector was price and warranty/replacement (since our trainers use these on the road all over the world). I found this projector for as low as $830 shipped from Newegg, but opted to buy from Amazon because they didn't have a restocking fee if we returned one. We also received a $100 Epson CX4200 All-in-one for free after rebate with the purchase of this projector. The "Extra Care Road Service" also influenced our purchase. They give you a card with an 800 number to call if you have any problems with a projector while on the road. They will overnight a replacement projector to you and give you a prepaid airway bill to return the defective unit within the first two years.I also looked into several DLP models. They tended to be nearly as cheap as this model, but I read a lot of negative reviews about the rainbow effect. Be sure to check out projectorcentral.com for a lot of great reviews. It helped me out a lot.
