Canon PowerShot SD430 Digital Camera (5.3MP, 2592x1944, 3x Opt, SD/MMC)
Canon PowerShot SD430 Review
- The PowerShot SD430 Digital Elph Wireless is the latest in Canon's popular range of Digital Elph point-and-shoot cameras. Like many other camera companies, Canon has been adding wireless functionality to its cameras, and the SD430 comes with a built-in 802.11b adapter for wireless printing with selected printers or for transmitting images to a PC. The feature works pretty well, but it ends up being a pricey convenience for a 5-megapixel camera with low battery life.

Strengths: Wireless
Weaknesses: Pricey
Overall Evaluation: Unlike other ELPH digicams, the Canon Powershot SD 430 really does as it is advertised. This camera provides a unique approach to shooting without cables with th Wireless Print Adapter included in the box for wireless printing to any PictBridge printer and offering wireless remote capture from your Windows computer. Canon built the SD430 with a 5.0-megapixel sensor, which may seems a little low these days. The only drawback would be the price.

Strengths: Small, decent photos, Wi-Fi capability
Weaknesses: Wi-Fi needs update to function stably
Overall Evaluation: I bought this as a back up for my main camera. I adjust property insurance claims, both homeowner and commercial, and need a reliable digital camera. I thought the Wi-Fi feature would be a wow factor for my grandkids, its not something I envision using for my claims work. Therefore, the camera fits my requirements.
