Casio Exilim EX-S600 Review

- At just over 0.6-inch thick, Casio's Exilim EX-S600 is one of the thinnest cameras I've seen--it's small enough to slip into a shirt or pants pocket without causing any unsightly bulges. The model costs $350 (as of 2/6/06) and is available in three colors to coordinate with your outfit: "sparkle" silver, "fiesta" orange, and "mistral" blue.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Small size; excellent screen; great options to change for different shots.

    Weaknesses:

Overall Evaluation: I enjoyed the camera and would highly recommend it for anyone. It appares to be better than other cameras that I've used. It's wide screen for viewing is much better than looking through a viewfinder window. The thinness of it also is very appealing.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: lots of settings, long battery life, rechargeable battery, good image quality when on the right setting, amazing macro shots.

Weaknesses: the automatic image quality is grainy or fuzzy or both, with little clarity. the settings are hard to get right.

Overall Evaluation: I've only had this camera for a few weeks, but it's a neat little thing. It has a long battery life so I can pretty much take it anywhere, and it's perfect for random snapshots. For some reason mine records sound for 30 seconds afterwards unless you hit 'menu'... but this doesn't happen if 'continual mode' is on. I, personally, didn't think the images were that great... I did better with my kodak easyshare v530, and canon powershot SD600, which happens to be less expensive and equally stylish.
