Linksys by Cisco Wireless G Music Bridge

  Strengths: In concept, a good idea. It just does not work

  Weaknesses: Won't connect. Have to turn off firewall to use it. Will embarrass you when friends want to hear music. Linksys support does not know what to do. Worst product of the year.

  Overall: I have spent numerous hours trying to get this thing to work on XP. I have downloaded new firmware, new installation software, and even tried using it hard wired to my router. It works maybe once a month. Look at the linksys forum site - 28 pages of complaints and workarounds with Linksys being quiet - no help from the people who took the hundred dollars for this piece of junk. Don't buy it.

  Strengths: Ease of setup, like most linksys items it is out of the box. Follow the picture guide and setup using the CD driver. I had it working in 10 minutes

  Weaknesses: I would say it is the flat sound.

  Overall: Overall I think it is a great product for the price. I work at home and was looking for a way to enjoy my itunes library more and this allows me to randomly play.

  Strengths: When it works it is great

  Weaknesses: Worked for three hours..then nothing

  Overall: This purchase has been the most painful electronic purchase I have made in years. Set up was complicated and the manufacturer provides limited details. Tech support was helpful, but it takes hours on the phone. I spent a several hours on the hone and they finally got it to work. But then the next time I rebooted the machine nothing...no sound. After wasting another 15 hours of trying to figure out what was wrong and other tech support calls, finally the unit just died...it was one month old. I would avoid this product entirely. Great concept, poor design.

  Overall: This was an absolute waste of money. It doesn't run on vista, it doesn't run past a repeater, it commandeers your sound-card, and it only broadcasts in mono. Not to mention that the software is impossible to install.What a PIECE!!!

  Strengths: You can stream music from your computer from program to any audio source!

  Weaknesses: Set-up is weak! If you are not familar with networking, this is not an easy set-up. With help from linksys forums, you will be able to set it up, but it will require patience.

  Overall: This is a great product! There are very few products like this one out there. Most wireless adapters that allow you to stream music require you to use a specific program to do it. One example is the Apple Airport. If you own an Airport, you can stream music only from Itunes. With the WMB54g you will be able to stream music from any application, including the internet. The only drawback is the setup. Once you brave through that, you will have a great product.
