Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Has Duplex, prints on both sides, and 1200 dpi. Print quality looks good on plain paper. Cost per printed pages seems to be one of the best. Nice setup under properties> install options.
Weaknesses: The major shortcoming of this machine is noise. My wife and I share a laser printer in our home network. This thing sounds like an aircraft taking off from a runway when it prints or warms-up.
Overall Evaluation: I was unable to find reviews on this thing even though it has been on the market for a year. It appears to be a good printer if you are not bothered by its high noise levels. Assembly instructions are all picture diagrams and even on the CD manual, install is not covered. So, a little networking knowledge and prior printer knowledge is necessary. I successfully stumbled through it only because I was installing it late at night and the call center was closed. I am returning mine and looking for something a little quieter. Also, the label with the serial number is at the rear of the machine and is difficult to read and cluttered with Chinese characters. You will need a magnifying glass to read the serial number, no kidding? Letters are included in the serial number even through Lexmark on line says that if the number you are reading has letters, it is not the serial number.
