Not Much RAM for Multitasking
The more RAM your laptop has, the faster programs will run and the greater number of windows you can work in at one time. If your needs are simple and you rarely do more than two things at once on your PC, the relatively modest amount of memory that comes installed in inexpensive laptops will be enough. Today the standard amount of RAM shipped in most PCs is 2GB. If you like to multitask--say, you want to launch a search for a file and start backing up data to a disc while you watch a news video--you need more memory.
Supports DVD Burning
This laptop is equipped with a DVD burner, a slightly older type of optical drive. If you don't need the ultrahigh recording capacity of a new Blu-ray optical drive, and you don't care about watching high-definition movies on your laptop, a DVD burner should suit you fine. It can read and burn data, music, or video discs up to 8.5GB in capacity. A DVD burner is, of course, backward-compatible with CDs, but it cannot play the newer Blu-ray media because the two types of optical-disc technology use different lasers. In a couple of years, Blu-ray will completely replace the DVD disc format.
Handle Heavy Loads of Streaming Data With Firewire
Many laptops have one built-in FireWire port, also known as an IEEE 1394 (the name of the official standard) or i.Link (Sony’s name for it) port. This connection comes in handy if you download massive video files. Even though USB ports have caught up to FireWire in speed--attaining 480 megabits per second to the latter's 400 mbps--FireWire is still better at handling heavy loads of streaming data. Unlike USB, FireWire can even quickly transfer data between devices (such as printers and scanners) without a PC. The new FireWire 800 standard, IEEE 1394b, is twice as fast as standard FireWire 400 or 1394a, but it hasn't caught on with mainstream users; it's available mainly as an add-in card for power users.
Connect Peripherals With Bluetooth Technology
This short-range wireless technology is everywhere. Whether you activate it on a laptop by way of an external on/off switch or through software, the small internal Bluetooth card automatically detects other Bluetooth-equipped devices within 30 feet and sends and receives radio signals over an ad-hoc "piconet," or personal wireless network. Bluetooth is an especially convenient way to add external peripherals or partner the laptop with other devices, such as a cell phone, printer, or digital camera. Bluetooth works only over short distances to connect devices around your home or office, sending small chunks of data at a leisurely 1 megabit per second.

Strengths: Awsome speed. built in wireless internet connections, and bluetooth, quite, right outa the box ready for anything u throw at it.
Weaknesses: gets a little hot in top left of pc, on bottom. Allthough the white is pretty sick lookin, it attractes dirt and hair easy, and its easy to see it all on it...other than that, its perfect.
Overall: I bought my Macbook about 2 months ago and no problems what so ever with it, its a mac so if u dont run windows on it u wont have to worry about the security on it, like viruses and stuff. I highly recommend buying this product, one of the best.

Strengths: Very very portable, which was one of the key features I was looking for in a laptop. Very sharp screen, I love the way images and movies show up on it. 2 1/2 - 4 hrs battery life.
Weaknesses: Power, not really disappointed because I knew it was only running a 1.83 GHz processor. Speakers, the speakers suck but it is a laptop;
Overall: I love this thing. Been a Windows user since Windows 95 and used to be a Mac basher, but like they say "Don't knock it 'til you try it". Well I tried it and within a week I was as comfortable on Mac OS X as Windows XP. The differences between the OS's didn't really bother me that much probably because I lived on a Linux machine for several months and Max OS X isn't that far from some of the Linux distributions out there. Just like with Windows, it doesn't come with an Office Suite but if you really need one and don't want to shell out the $$ dollars for one, you can download a copy of OpenOffice.org for free. Mac OS X 10.4 which is what is shipped with this machine does not support the latest version of Java (Java 6), so from a developmental standpoint you won't have the cutting edge features that were added in java 6 but i believe the OS updater updates the java version to 5. I spent my first night with my Macbook updating the OS, but it was all done on one battery charge.

Strengths: Fast computer, very very stable, elegant and easy to use operating system, easy to use wireless with excellent & long wireless range
Weaknesses: None
Overall: I sold my macbook pro and bought the macbook. For $1000.00 less, you get a smaller screen, but better wireless reception and even longer battery life. This is a GREAT laptop. The other reviews are right.

Strengths: Great price, next day delivery. Powerful little bugger. Love the bright, glossy screen. Front Row is an awesome plus!
Weaknesses: Advertised as a 60GB hard drive, arrived as a 35GB (!?) Guess I'll delete some of the demos and whatnot. Speakers could use a little punching up - they're kind of quiet.
Overall: I took delivery on a 13.3" MacBook Intel Core Duo 2GHz with SuperDrive (white) and I have to say that I am extremely pleased with it. Great price, hot features, happy boy. As the owner of a G4 Quicksilver desktop, I can say that even at 512MB RAM - this is one fast machine. The cost of 1GB of extra memory was cheaper elsewhere, so I went with that. It was a cinch to connect the MacBook with my G4 by ethernet cable and transfer files back and forth. Also got up and running on the internet quickly. Though I can't run Final Cut Pro due to the lack of a decent graphics card, this laptop will handle music recording duties just fine! Well worth the investment (and the wife will get this one when I graduate to a MacBook Pro later this year.)

Strengths: stronger than armenian b.o.
Weaknesses: weaker than arnold's tooth gap
Overall: I friggin love the lil book. She doesn't over heat or hasn't even hiccuped. iLife is awesome. The macbook looks and runs better than any other ( I upgraded to 2g ram ). whenever I use someone's pc or g4 i feel kinda sorry for them. The macbook makes me feel like king of the castle while the peasants peck away at their stone tablets. The core 2 duo was just released after I got the core duo. That sucked but the 4mb cache would've been faster than my 2mg. that's life
