Pioneer Electronics Inno Review

- The tiny Pioneer Inno squeezes a radio receiver and an MP3 player into a package that looks like a mobile phone--but it lets you listen to and record live XM Satellite Radio on the go. By letting you mix radio content with your music collection, this device could change the way you listen to music.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Size, versatility, MP3 playback, record broadcast, great sound and reception. This device does it all: home, car and portable.

    Weaknesses: Memory could be larger.

Overall Evaluation: I have used this device as a portable device, at home using the home dock, and in the car using the car dock. I have never had any type of reception problem, with the exception of driving through a tunnel (guess you can expect that with any type of radio transmission). Have had a couple of times when the reception went out for a second when blocking the antenna, but it self-corrected and the outage was so minimal I really didn't care. I have read a lot of reviews here with complaints about the battery life. I have not had that problem first hand. I have used the device for 3 days now, and haven't had to re-charge (I'd say that I've used it for about 8 hours without a re-charge). Love the fact that you can record songs and/or broadcasts and that I can also load my own music. Guess I can get rid of my Toshiba Gigabeat now. This is my first journey in to satellite radio and I have to admit, I'm loving it and I absolutely love my Inno!!!!! The price was great and right now they are offering a $50 mail-in rebate, which makes the price even better. Have not had any issues with the battery cover falling off or poor reception. I have a friend that is on Sirius and he complains about signal loss a lot. Have not had that problem with my Inno. Highly recommended!!!!

    Strengths: Size, Weight, Features.

Weaknesses: Built in antenna could be stonger. A better antenna would improve reception

Overall Evaluation: It would be great if you could down load music from the INNO. The Case and headphones are included. Headphones with buit in antenna are available from Belkin as an additional accesssory.
