HP Photosmart R727 Digital Camera (6.2MP, 2864x2160, 3x Opt, 32MB Internal Memory, SD Slot)
HP Photosmart R727 Review
- The Photosmart R727 ($300 as of 6/15/06) is a well-designed, smart camera with a sturdy metal case that's thin enough to fit easily into a shirt pocket. It's a little thicker (at 0.9 inches) than the lightweight Casio SX600, but it certainly won't weigh you down. The slim design extends to the lens as well: The 3X optical zoom doesn't protrude from the case.

Strengths: Rechargeable Battery
Weaknesses: Zoom
Overall Evaluation: I bought this camera for to use at a graduation, and it worked great. The rechargeable battery that it comes with saves lots of me money by not buying large amounts of batteries. It can hold a charge. It takes a decent picture, but It needs to be able to zoom in more.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: *fast picture taking*extremely easy to use*compact and lite*several types of picture settings
Weaknesses: *lense is close to the side and sometimes your finger can cover it*difficult to take action shots, lighting doesn't always show up well
Overall Evaluation: All in all this is a great camera, especially for travel. You could probably find a better camera that is smaller and has more picture features but you would end up paying twice as much. This is a very reliable, easy to use camera. In a time where technology is constantly changing you could get a couple years worth out of this camera and it would pay for itself within a year. Dollar for dollar it is the biggest bang for your buck.
