Dell XPS 700 Review

- The Dell XPS 700 is a big, powerful system that has plenty of processing muscle to spare. Flexing Intel's 2.66-GHz Core 2 Duo E6700 processor and 2GB of DDR2-667 RAM, the system earned an impressive score of 153 on our WorldBench 5 benchmark. That puts it behind the ABS Ultimate X9, which scored an incredible 181 (and which uses a Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor), but it's still 9 percent higher than the average score of our four previous top-performing systems, all of which used 2.6-GHz Athlon 64 X2 FX-60 CPUs. One area of big improvement was multitasking: in our test running both Windows Media Encoder and a Web browser at the same time, the Dell ran 14 percent faster than the quickest Athlon-based systems.

Strengths: Great case....tons of room for expansion...very fast...very quiet...nice LED light setup....and the door is EASY to open

Weaknesses: Too much bloatware installed....case fairly heavy

Overall Evaluation: I had a very short turn around time on the order...2 weeks...also had a very good experience with support after the power switch came apart...had the new switch AND I/O panel in my hands in less than 24 hours and installed myself.....runs ALL my games flawlessly and the 2007WFP monitor is also great....thought I had a problem with a floating point error...as it turned out it was the DELL/DIAGS....downloaded and installed new DIAGS and everything tested 100% XPS 700 Black Intel Core2 2.93GHz X6800 1066FSB 2GB DDR2 667 Dual Nvidia 7900GTX 512 160GB SATA WDC NCQ 10,000RPM H/D BTX Mainboard Sony DVD-ROM NEC CDRW Broadcom NetXtreme Network Dell 2007WFP Creative X-Fi Audio Saitek Eclipse Razer Death Adder

Overall Evaluation: WoW Pc World obviously didnt get the best system out of our 700 series. We do have the same processor as The number 1. Stupid bias people hating on dell computers, just because they dont have the money for the stuff we put inside. pathetic.
