Strengths: Fast and accurate; extended PDF support; support many input formats including JPEG and handprinted notes.

Weaknesses: Included bonus programs are only limited versions.

Overall Evaluation: The most important things one should look for in OCR software are accuracy and fast speed. I found them both in Readiris Pro 11 and many more time saving features such as its extended PDF support with four different types of generated PDF files, hand printed recognition, and exhaustive list of supported input and output formats. I like the option of being able to convert JPEG file into Word, PDF, Excel and e-mail so that I could just use my digital camera instead of a scanner for taking inputs which is very convenient when you are mobile or doing research in a library.
