Strengths: Individual ink cartridges , High quality photo printing
Weaknesses: Expensive Cartridges
Overall Evaluation: I've had quite a few color printers over the years. This is my first Canon Pixma and I admit the color is really accurate. For the first time I don't have to deal with too much ink on the page or colors that don't appear as they do on my monitor or in real life. The printer hibernates all by itself which I like, so if I'm not using it for a week or so, I don't have to remember to shut it off as I do with the other printers. I've had great luck with it. The only downside so far for me is the cost of replacement ink cartridges. I bought one full set of Canon cartridges for this printer at Best Buy and paid almost half of the original cost of the printer. Canon has made it much more difficult (although not impossible) to use compatible cartridges by including a proprietary IC in each cartridge.

Strengths: Fast, quiet, high quality photo prints.
Weaknesses: 6 ink cartridges (can get expensive), though could be worse.
Overall Evaluation: This is my second canon printer. I upgraded from the i560 and what an upgrade it has been. I thought my old printer produced good pictures. This printer produces great pictures. The color and quality of the prints are fantastic. The LCD monitor is nice, but I print out everything from my computer post editing. Great printer. Would highly recommend

Strengths: User friendly menu, True and vivid colors, Dual feed trays for different size prints, Pop-up display screen
Weaknesses: None
Overall Evaluation: Maybe I am partial to Canon products, but this printer is awesome when using high quality Canon paper. You can't go wrong for a printer in the $100-$150 range (when I purchased mine). I also recommend at least a 6+ MP camera to fully take advantage of this printer's capabilities.

Overall Evaluation: I purchased this product from Staples as it was cheaper at the time. I am in love with this printer. It creates high quality photo's quickly. It has several great features included and does come with handy software for making adjustments either on your PC or on the printer itself. One thing I must say however, is that the type of photo paper you are using makes a HUGE difference. Epson Premium Glossy is by far the best when used with this. It is, in all honestly, difficult to tell the difference between a digitally printed photo and a traditional film photograph. The printer itself is not very cost effective for those with a budget in mind. The only thing that is missing from the package is the much needed USB female/female cord to attach it to the pc for a direct pc print. The unit has a very clean viewing screen. On board controls are very user friendly and even has some extra nifty printing features such as sepia toning. I really recommend this printer for those wanting an outstanding photo at an even better price!

Strengths: Multiple, individual color cartridges, photo print quality
Weaknesses: Initial price, cost of replacement catridges, desk space
Overall Evaluation: After trying out several different printers (we still have 3 of them) this is by far our favorite for photo printing. We were doing the costco online orders and picking up in the store (still do for the 8x10's) but this is so much more convenient and the quality is at least as good (we calculated the overall cost of paper and ink, and it works out to a bit cheaper as well). No complaints for quaility or functionality, just cost and size. We never use the different memory stick plug-ins, just print from the computer.
What You Should Know about the iP6700D
Duplex Printing a Must for Busy Offices
A printer with duplex capability contains an internal mechanism for turning the paper over to print on the other side. (This is not to be confused with the manual duplexing that some printers offer, where driver software walks you through the process of turning over the paper yourself.) Any high-volume office should seriously consider this feature. The duplexing process slows down your print job a bit, but it also immediately cuts your paper use in half -- good for your budget, good for the environment.
