Strengths: Reads dvds that my old Liteon LTD 163 could not read.

Weaknesses: None that I am aware of. 800 Firewire would be nice.

Overall Evaluation: I went with this external drive model for ease of upgradabililty and to lower heat buildup in future computer builds. I like the application of using optical dvd backups vs another hd that sometime fail due to hardware or software issues. A lesson learned the hard way.
