    Strengths: slim size

Weaknesses: laptop that freeze often, bad customer service

Overall Evaluation: lenovo - bad purchase experience with unstable thinkpad x61s and bad customer service. i just brought this brand new X61s, and i was very disappointed. first i had to wait 5 weeks before lenovo can ship it since it was out of stock. once it arrived, it kept crashing on me, i literally had to reboot couple of times a day. i tried calling lenovo for support, it took forever to get thru to someone live, and they were not much help. this is very disappointing since i paid about USD1800 for it and it would even freeze on me every 2 minutes whenever i use msn messenger. they have also shorten the warrantee from 3 years to 1 year, so now i am stuck with it. i will never buy from lenovo/ibm ever again! you just lost a loyal customer !

    Strengths: screen is large

Weaknesses: short battery life, ridiculously bad customer service, computer freezes often, mouse buttons frequently do not work -but not often enough that lenovo will agree to replace the unit-, trouble with wireless connection, runs very slowly even when options for upgrades are maxed out, thinkVantage is buggy and means often you can't get projector presentaitons to work.

Overall Evaluation: I experienced repeated problems with the computer wherein the computer freezes often during use, the computer boots up very slowly, then sometimes the computer runs extremely slowly and shuts down programs on its own, then I had problems where it refuses to come out of hibernate, where I had wireless problems, then I had ethernet problems, and additionally about 20% of the time the left mouse button on both the trackpoint and the trackpad do not work. Though I spent 6 hours on the phone with technical support people apparently they only logged that I had a wireless problem even though I mentioned and we worked on all of these problems to them. I then called customer service where I was talked to a rude representative who told me that the return policy is for 21 days from the time of invoice. I didn't even have the computer until after 21 days from when I ordered it! I checked the invoice and found that from when I received the computer I had exactly 4 days from invoice date to try the computer and return it. Lenovo has refused repeatedly to be of any assistance. I am extremely displeased with both customer service and this faulty piece of crap that I bought from them. Too expensive.. if you're looking for a good laptop.. don't buy this one.

What You Should Know about the ThinkPad R60 Cen Core Duo T2500

Not Much RAM for Multitasking

The more RAM your laptop has, the faster programs will run and the greater number of windows you can work in at one time. If your needs are simple and you rarely do more than two things at once on your PC, the relatively modest amount of memory that comes installed in inexpensive laptops will be enough. Today the standard amount of RAM shipped in most PCs is 2GB. If you like to multitask--say, you want to launch a search for a file and start backing up data to a disc while you watch a news video--you need more memory.
