Strengths: Relatively compact for what it does. Nice big control screen with intuitive inputs. High-quality scans. Automatic scan settings do an excellent job with no fuss.
Weaknesses: Scanning is significantly slower than a top-quality stand-alone. Having the scanning surface so far off the desk makes it a bit less convenient to scan bound materials.
Overall Evaluation: Good value for a top-quality scanner. This machine works with no fuss. Drivers are very solid on WinXP; I have no experience with Vista. The film scanning capability does exactly what it should and produces excellent results with both negatives and positives. Like just about any all-in-one, the scan and print speeds don't measure up to what you can get from a single-function device, but if you can live with the lower speed, the savings in desk space is welcome.

Strengths: The printer makes excellant copies both in color and black and white. Its quiet and has a 3.5 inch lcd readout making operating machine easy and effortless.
Weaknesses: This machine is big and bulky needing alot of space on desktop. Printer is expensive compared to other all in one printers and needs 7 different ink tanks for making copies costing alot of money.
Overall Evaluation: I am very satisfied with this printer,I had an Epson all in one printer for a number of years but it had software issues . I needed a vista operating system software compatiable printer and I am glad I made the upgrade.

Strengths: Easy to install directions, quick with printing and getting responses from the computer. Scans clearly and copies in color and blank and white.
Weaknesses: Large and 26lbs of weight.
Overall Evaluation: This is a titan of all in ones and seems to be every thing I need. I'm scanning receipts into my computer to save filing space and hope to do the same for my health care records. This scanner is incredible and the program with it is very nice too. I think it was a smart choice. It is large and takes up a good portion of my desk so that's why I rate it good.
What You Should Know about the PIXMA MP960 All-In-One Printer (22 PPM, 9600x2400 DPI, Color, PC/Mac)
Inkjets Print Photos Well, And Decent Looking Text, Too
Inkjet printers like this one are commonly used in a home or student setting as well as in a small office. Printing photos is their strongest suit, although they can also print decent to good-looking plain text. For the best results, you usually need to use specially coated papers.
Inkjet printers spray ink through microscopic nozzles arrayed on a print head. Because the printhead has to move back and forth across the page, inkjets can be slow--especially when printing those nice photos.
Ink type affects print quality. Dye-based inks (color dissolved in liquid) tend to create better-looking colors, but they’re less light- and water-resistant. Pigment-based inks (solid color particles suspended in liquid) create images that are more durable but not quite as colorful. Some inkjet printers use both: a pigment-based black for crisp text quality, for instance, but dye-based colors for better-looking graphics.
Ink cartridges come in two basic designs. The colors (cyan, magenta, and yellow) can come in a unified “tricolor” cartridge or in separate cartridges. There’s always a separate black. The tricolor cartridges are more compact, but they’re also wasteful because you have to replace the entire cartridge whenever you run out of any one color. Some printers offer additional colors, such as light cyan or light magenta, to widen the color palette.
