Duration of ownership: 2 Months
Strengths: 7 SATA Ports, Abit AudioMax HD Audio, Save up to 5 BIOS settings, Abit uGuru overclocking software (w/ AutoDrive, Fan EQ, and LED Effect Control)
Weaknesses: Only 1 IDE interface, no Parallel Port
Overall: Great buy for the price! I wish it had 2 IDE interfaces so I did'nt have to use one of the PCI slots. The uGuru OC software is easy to use. You can OC any game or program and have each game/program OC'd differently with different fan speed settings. Strengths: Every Gamer's Dream MB.
Weaknesses: Only 1 PCI Slot. If using PCI x16 Slots, it will block the PCI x1 Slots.
Overall: It is a board for the enthusiast. For the enthusiast who is looking for stability, hardcore performance and oodles of BIOS tweaks, abit has done it right with this board. The BIOS revisions keep getting better adding even more performance and lower, half-step CPU multipliers. I own Corsair DDR2 6400 2x1GB = 2GB Kits and the board accepts them with minimal tinkering. Although, I did have to go into the BIOS and adjust the default voltage to their standard volt settings. It's rock solid stable running a Dual Core X2 6400+ Blackbox Edition. The board overclocks very well and is definitely a must-have for those who crave all the features listed above and of course; Fatal1ty! The onboard LED-BIOS display is a nice touch. If you get beep codes you can easily reference the code on the display to the list in the manual.

Is there a $200 performance difference between the AMD 2.6-GHz Athlon 64 X2 5200 and the Intel 2.66-GHz Core 2 Duo E6700? I supposed that would be hard to quaitify, but some sort of comparison (other than price) would seem to have been in order.

Yes there is a $200.00 price with sp3 out intel will suport it were a amd will not.
