Strengths: Compact.Well made, Large viewing screen, Easy to operate and Weather proff. Does what it was purchased to do.
Weaknesses: None
Overall Evaluation: This camera was a replacement for a damaged Olympus C-60 that I found to be very satisfactory.I did a lot of research for another camera and concluded that the Olympus 1000 was far superrior to other cameras with like charisticets and fit my needs. I would recomend the 1000 for those that want a quick and easy way to take quality pictures. However the Manufacters recomened retail price for this camers is FAR to expensive in compairson with other cameras with like features! It pays to shop and compair prices befor buying.

Strengths: small, compact size. Metal casing.
Weaknesses: Slow to shot and also makes noise. Not sure what the noise is for.
Overall Evaluation: I bought this camera at a great price so I can't complain. It's a nice compact camera with 10MP. I'm not sure why it makes this strange noise though.

Strengths: 10M pixels, stylish design, all weather, and image stabilization
Weaknesses: take expensive xd card
Overall Evaluation: I have owed a few cameras from Olympus. This is the one with best looking and the highest pixel level. Not surprisingly, this camera produces really good color and contrast level. Very happy with the photos. The only thing I am not happy is the xd card. It costs twice more than sd card for the same capacity.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: 10MP, large LCD screen, low cost, compact
Weaknesses: poor low light performance, only 3x optical zoom, XD card
Overall Evaluation: The camera has 10MP so you can use digital zoom to get close to your object. Picture quality is nice with good lightening However, pictures become grainy with low light conditions. Camera has a small footprint with point and shoot capability for beginners. However, not for any serious photography.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: High resolution pictures,Decent battery life from rechargeable battery pack, large 2.5 inch lcd,Small size and weight
Weaknesses: No included camera bag,Only 3x zoom
Overall Evaluation: This is my second Olympus digital camera. I recently upgraded from the Olympus C-50, which has served me well over the last few years. This new Stylus 1000 is an excellent all weather camera that is ultra portable and is great for point and shoot type picture taking, but also has enough settings to please the more experienced users. I just got back from vacation and this camera took some excellent pictures. The only thing that I noticed was that the LCD was difficult to see in bright daylight, but that is true for most cameras. Considering the pricepoint and the feature set, I would highly recommend this camera.
