Attention, all you fans of the movie Legally Blonde, the Fujitsu LifeBook P7230 now comes with a hot-pink lid. This 2.6-pound ultraportable looks as darling as a teacup chihuahua peeking out of a tote. And the unit's battery life is like totally awesome, too. But even though the Limited Pink Edition P7230 can do almost everything a full-size laptop can--even burn DVDs--it takes two to three times longer because of its slow processor.

Integrated DVD burner
Pink designer lid

Cramped touchpad and mouse buttons

Bottom Line
It's light and pink but no prize in the performance department. Also, the mouse buttons are very stiff.
Limited Pink Edition Fujitsu LifeBook P7230
LifeBook P7230 Review, by Carla Thornton August 28, 2007
Equipped with a 1.2-GHz Core Solo U1400 chip and 1GB of RAM, the Pink P7230 earned a lackluster WorldBench 6 Beta 2 score of 32. (Full-size notebooks with the latest dual-core processors have scored as high as 80). On the other hand, two other sub-12-inch notebooks with the same processor earned the same score, suggesting that notebooks of this size tend not to deliver fast performance. The battery lasted 5.8 hours in our tests, which makes it one of the top scores on this measure in our ultraportable category.
Another nice characteristic of the Pink P7230 is its modular bay, allowing you to use two batteries at once. It has a super-bright 10.6-inch screen, too, and plenty of useful connections, including a FireWire port and an ExpressCard slot. The user manual is a nice printed book that you don't have to be a brainiac to understand.
If flying your pink proudly (via a light-as-a-powder-puff notebook) matters as much to you as getting work done, the Limited Pink Edition Fujitsu LifeBook P7230 might be all the notebook you need. But you value productivity, invest the $1679 (as of August 8, 2007) that our test unit cost in something faster.
