Toshiba Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757
User Reviews for Toshiba Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757

Strengths: Very usable with good screen
Weaknesses: battery life sucks. Toshiba only provides a crippled battery ... but as soon as you register or get online, they punish you further by pushing a 'real battery' for an extra $135. You know it wouldn't cost that much for them to just add a real battery in the first place.
Overall Evaluation: Great inexpensive computer if you are going to stay on AC power most of the time. If you are traveling, look elsewhere.

Strengths: HUGE hard drive, good screen size, comes with a CD and DVD burner and a built in 1.3 megapixel webcam. 2 gigs of RAM
Weaknesses: More difficult than it needs to be to use the volume button and the keyboard is a bit clunky.
Overall Evaluation: I agree with some of the points in the professional review of this computer. The keyboard is a bit clunky, and the volume wheel can be hard to figure out, but beyond that, I love this laptop. I bought mine in July, 2007. It was a great deal then when I bought it and it is an even better deal now. I love Windows Vista. I love the fact that it has a huge hard drive. I love the fact that it has a built in webcam. I love the fact that it has both a CD and DVD burner. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a decent laptop. Is the performance the best? No, but I wasn't expecting the performance from a $5000 computer either. I am VERY happy with this laptop!

Strengths: Nice multimedia features and good processing power.
Weaknesses: Slow hard drive, and worst of all it randomly shuts down without notice. There are many reviews on the internet describing the same behavior, which means it's a product defect, buy at your own risk, you have been warned! (hopefully you are lucky enough to read this before it's to late, $1000 down the drain).

What You Should Know about the Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757
Multitask and Not Bog Down
The more memory a PC has, the faster your programs run and the more windows you can work in simultaneously. Equipped with memory between 1GB and 3GB, this laptop should be able to handle just about any task you can throw at it without bogging down too much. For instance, if you're a multitasker and you'd like to burn a music CD in one window while watching your favorite DVD movie (for the umpteenth time) in another--while flipping between your inbox and your browser to work on your blog during the movie's boring parts--this laptop can manage it all without a hiccup.
