Lexmark Z1300 Inkjet Printer Review

- If nothing else, Lexmark's Z1300 inkjet printer is extremely inexpensive. On the other hand, it's minimally equipped and pretty slow, and its inks are among the most expensive available. Because its photo quality on special paper is so good, however, it could be an affordable way to print photos (but only at low volume).

    Strengths: price alone

Weaknesses: not compatible with windows 98 or 2000. mine was delivered without usb cable or ink cartridge. problem installing to windows xp. no drivers for windows 98 or 2000.

Overall Evaluation: worthless to myself and 2 friends, will avoid lexmark from now on.

    Strengths: Inexpensive

Weaknesses: High ink costs. Lower price black ink cartridge 28 is non-refillable, making this printer an expensive proposition for anyone printing more than one or two pages at a time.

Overall Evaluation: The inexpensive Z1300 may have a niche among those who print a couple of pages a month, but it's high ink costs rule this printer out for just about anything else.
