Duration of ownership: 1 Month
Strengths: Simple set up, use MBR setting to dee it in entirety in your Disk Manager, the make it a volume and quick format it. No sweat. Using as a Video library it works fine, so far.
Weaknesses: none noted yet
Overall: Space in my media server is limited. This replaces a 500 GB older brother. It is a space saver for me. Next one I get I will use to clone my boot drive.

Strengths: Large size and dependable.
Weaknesses: Can run a bit hot, so make sure to have some good cooling.
Overall: I loaded my harddrive into an Antec MX-1 active cooled enclosure and backed up all of my data onto it. I think it would have been running pretty hot if I didn't have it in the active-cooled enclosure. Also, not using the SATA connection makes the data transfer a bit slow (through USB).

Strengths: Has not failed me! Holds a lot of stuff!
Weaknesses: Heats up pretty well
Overall: This is a great drive and will provide plenty of storage for my needs for the time being. I have it in an Antex MX1 enclosure so in terms of overheating, the enclosure is doing a good job 'dissipating' the heat. I haven't been able to tell of any degraded performance either. I've already filled out 75% of the drive!

Strengths: Large Size, 3 Year Warranty, Runs Quiet and Cool. Perfect drive for Media Center storage.
Weaknesses: Not so great performance.
Overall: Western Digital again delivers a good quality product. Many people may complain about the performance of these drives though. It's a variable speed drive which many people may not like for their main desktop drive. These drives are the future, so get used too it. Most drives made in the past few years have the ability to be slowed down for heat/energy/sound issues. It's just that the option wasn't easily adjustable by consumers. (Google "Automatic Acoustic Management") I purchased four of these for use in a Media File Server which will be running 24/7. The reduced power usage (up to almost 50% over other drives) and the reduction in heat that goes with it is what encouraged me to purchase these. Compare the energy consumption on WD's site and you'll see these drives use about the same amount of power as a 120-250GB drive. If you are interested in speed, you might consider some other product.

Strengths: Drive runs quiet and cool, 3 yr warranty
Weaknesses: 16 mb cache - slightly slower perf
Overall: Drive was easy to set up and runs quiet and cool at 5400 rpm. Green drive saves on power and runs perfectly in the NAS box in RAID 1 config with a small tradeoff in performance (not your best option for a boot drive).

Strengths: Very good packaging, seems it is a factory sealed
Weaknesses: I do not see any weaknesses yet.
Overall: Very good value for a money paid.As it was promiced by site, it is a new, factory sealed 1 Tb internal hard drive bundled with full back up software.I hope it will work the way it was described.
