    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: good image quality

    Weaknesses: no close caption.

Overall Evaluation: it didn't work when I first plugged it into my router. I had to upgrade the firmware by directly connecting it to my computer (using cross-over ethernet cable). utilized almost 100% of my old labtop (AMD 1800+ 1.5Ghz). 30% on my dual-core E2160 processor. Overall, it's a pretty good product if you're running the software on a recent processor, P4 or above. hope they'll put the close caption in soon, as well as a built-in video recorder.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Ability to stream HD content on my TiVo HD to anywhere with a broadband connection, even my Palm Centro phone; more stable than some of it's competitors.

Weaknesses: Though it takes component inputs, it does not stream in HD quality.

Overall Evaluation: After months of trying other, cheaper place shifting technologies like Orb or Sony's location free TV, I finally plunked down the extra $ for a Slingbox Solo. The Solo seemed the best model, as I have a TiVo HD and unlike the Slingbox Pro, you do not need to buy an HD adapter for the component input. The Slingbox is the most stable of the devices I have tried, and it optimizes the video quality based on your available upload bandwidth. Setup was a snap - took less than 15 minutes. I'm very pleased with the ease of use, video quality, and user interface. Now I can catch all the games no matter where I am. Definitely recommend!
