What You Should Know about the Phaser 6180MFP

Installed Memory Works for Normal Sized Group's Everyday Printing

This printer's installed memory is sufficient for a typically sized workgroup (6 to 20 people) that prints a steady stream of mainstream business documents (memos, spreadsheets, or simple Web pages), plus some more graphics-intensive items (brochures, presentations, and reports). If your workgroup handles highly complex image files frequently, however, you'll want more memory than this printer provides.

User Reviews for Xerox Phaser 6180MFP

    Duration of ownership: 3 Months

Strengths: Great print quality. Fast enough. Good service and support.

Weaknesses: Scan to FTP, Scan to Computer (SMB) and Scan to EMail are flaky at best and some just don't work at all.

Overall Evaluation: Scan to FTP and Scan to Email have problems and don't work with Windows 2003 Server using Active Directory. I spent 3 months working with Xerox tech support to help diagnose the problem. I ran multiple communication traces under multiple scenarios. Their engineering staff finally reproduced the problem in the lab. HOWEVER, Xerox has chosen not to fix the problem. They told me that Xerox was not going to issue ANY firmware upgrades or fixes for the product - EVER! Maybe this explains why they are discounting the product now by $250 - it would seem they are going to drop the product.
