Strengths: Very easy set-up, even without tutorial. Many advanced administrative (firewall, port forwarding, internal routing control) functions, but not necessary for basic function. Good range.
Weaknesses: None apparent so far.
Overall Evaluation: I had read many reviews for different products and was looking for a gigabit router for my internal network, as well as 802.11n capabilities and backward compatibility for visitors to my house. This router is replacing a Lynksis WRT54G that recently succumbed to a power surge. I bought it open box, all materials arrived as expected. The set-up was almost identical using the web-based interface, since I couldn't use the included set-up assistant on my iMac. For someone new to routers, it may be a bit daunting as there are numerous tabs, sub-settings, and somewhat complex options available. But the help information is very plentiful and easy to understand, and most functions can be set up without really knowing what they all mean. I had read that many people say the router runs hot, which is true. Mine is in a closet in the basement, so I don't have any issues. If you kept it on your desktop or in a tight space, you might want to keep papers away just to be safe. Overall, this router functions well, meets all my current and near-future needs, and is reasonably simple to administer. Very pleased.

Strengths: Good range, faster speeds than previous models, reliability, cleaner looks
Weaknesses: not dual band
Overall Evaluation: I've had this model for a few months now, and I can say that it is a very good upgrade to the previous Draft-N models that came out a year or so ago. The fact that it has no physical antenna is also a plus, showing that you don't need that in order to connect (they are mostly for looks). I've been using WiFi for about 6 years and I'm very happy with this model, though I wish the dual band was a better price. When the ratified WiFi N comes out (hopefully soon) I'll consider upgrading to that one.

Strengths: None
Weaknesses: Slow speed. Setup was easy but using 192.168.1.1 would be faster. Single band antenna. Short antenna range.
Overall Evaluation: Returned this product after 2 days. Setup was easy but too many limiting features and slow speed. Bought 1GB cards for faster computer to computer file transfer but small speed gain was not worth the expense. Small profile lays flat taking up too muck desk space. XBOX play was limited, TIVO connection signal was poor 7% at 30 feet and 1 inside wood frame wall. Wireless internet was slow compared to SRX400. I cannot recommend this product!

Strengths: Magnificent Range.Pretty straight forward to set up.Secure remote administration over the internet.
Weaknesses: Form Factor.
Overall Evaluation: I installed the router in a commercial building of 60 ft by 165 feet. I then went around the building with my laptop using a wireless G card. Signal strength was more than adequate on all three floors except for one small remote area. This building has a brick wall across the middle of it!It is easy to set up. Just log on to the url and go through the menus to set the settings. The product was not designed for space efficiency. You cannot stand it up on end unless you sandwich it between bookends. It's just going to sit where you put it and take up a bunch of space.I almost didn't buy this product. I called presales support to find out if I could use one of these as an access point, only, and attach it to another one configured as an access point and router. The support person told me I could, but that Linksys wouldn't tell me how unless I paid a technical support fee. This was a higher level of support than was standard. That was a bit off-putting. After finding the very simple answer on the internet it seems to me this capability could have been included in the manual. They might sell more routers.

Strengths: Easy set up sort of
Weaknesses: Placement crucial
Overall Evaluation: Style different looking but beauty is in the eye.... Opened box read instructions put disc in drive got to step 4 0r 5 (plug in Power), stopped re-tried stopped. Call tech support on hold about 10 min. Tech walked me through within 3-5 min. Powered on my notebook about 50 feet away signal fair. Turned router about 2", signal went to perfect. Who knows these modern marvels!
