User Reviews for Samsung SYNCMASTER 760V TFT LCD

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Sharp, true-to-color picture. Easy set-up, very low power consumption. Space-saving and VESA compliant, adequate refresh rate

Weaknesses: black color lightens slightly on edges of screen (common problem of earlier TFT monitors like this. No DVI Input, just standard VGA, no integrated speakers, adequate refresb rate

Overall Evaluation: I have had this monitor for one year now. I bought it at a discount price for about 500 dollars. THis price is now common and there are better monitors now out for the same price. However, since this is a discontinued model, I believe this monitor can be bought now for about 300 USD. I have had no trouble with this monitor ever since I bought it. I am very satisfied with its performance. I own it with conjunction of a AtiRage 128 graphics card (also very old by todays standards). It works very well, however, not with the recommended refresh rate of 60hz by Samsung. To get the best picture set your video card to 70hz and press the Auto-adjust button on the monitor using its native 1280x1024 resolution. THe monitor does not have speakers, but in my opinion those small speakers in todays TFTs are no good anyway. Rather save the money and buy yourself much better seperate external speakers. Hardcore action gamers might not want to purchase this monitor due its relatively slow refresh rate for this specific purpose. Summary.: If you are looking for a well-designed, robust, no-frills value crisp picture monitor and already have good speakers then the Samsung 760vTFT is a good choice for you.
